Privacy
GuestSeatingChart exists to seat guests, not to collect data. Here is the whole story, in plain language.
Guest names
Hosts upload guest names and table assignments. That list is shown on the event’s guest page, which lives at an unguessable link (there are more possible links than grains of sand on Earth — nobody stumbles onto yours). Guest pages are never indexed by search engines, carry no ads, and we never sell or share data with anyone.
What we log
On guest pages: nothing. No analytics, no third-party scripts, no cookies — we do not count visits or searches, and we could not tell you who looked up their seat. Hosts sign in with an email address; that’s the only account data we keep.
Cookies and advertising
Our public pages — the home page, pricing, guides and sign-in — load Google’s advertising tag so we can tell which ads bring people to the site. It sets cookies in your browser and is the one third-party script we use. You can block it with any content blocker, or with your browser’s Do Not Track and ad-personalisation settings, and the site works exactly the same.
It never runs on guest pages. If you scanned a QR code at an event to find your seat, no advertising cookie was set and no third party learned you were there.
Deletion
Deleting an event permanently removes every guest name within 24 hours. Events auto-archive 12 months after the event date, and hosts can request a full export or deletion of their data at any time by emailing [email protected].
